.Thinking of entering your first tournament?
Are you an Archery GB member, can you usually hit the boss at your chosen distance, and do you want a day out pinging some arrows?
If you answer "yes" to all three of these, then we can help you find a tournament that is right for you, talk to the club's Records & Tournament Officer.
Most archery tournaments can be entered by any archer, and many outdoor tournaments offer a range of rounds (at different distances) so you can choose one that suits you.
For those newer to archery, or those not quite familiar with all of the rules, Archery GB have produced an excellent guide to tournaments (focusing on outdoor shooting). Click on the cover picture for a plain English PDF guide, starting with how to score a round, shooting line etiquette and what to expect if you intend to take your archery to the next level and participate in one of the many tournaments held around the country.
If the Archery GB guide is "TL;DR",
here's a one-pager of tournament tips which club members have put together - particularly for first-timers.
It covers indoor and outdoor tournaments .
